The fade away for me was perfect. It wasn't the hall I attended for 16 years, that would have been harder. This one was for only 2 years, and I never made it a point to really get to know anyone. Didn't really care to. So, really, few noticed when I didn't attend anymore. No one searches me out, and it is best that way.

okay, let's go along with the flood story for a moment, to the point where noah exits the ark.. here we have noah, with two of each animal and seven of the clean animals; maybe a few dozen animals that were not essential to the future survival of the species.. what does god do?.
tells noah he can eat animals now.. are you telling me an all-wise, all-knowing god isn't capable of better planning than that?

1. ALL writers, whether of fiction or non-fiction, including historical tomes, consistently and persistently, are KNOWN to embellish their written prose according to their own prejudices and whims.
2. The first writer of the wholey scriptures began to record the alleged history of mankind exactly HOW many centuries after its supposedly began (?) thus he could have only gleaned his pseudo-facts based on lore passed down by word of mouth through generations of unenlightened.....men...and the probability that the first writer was a man raised in a wealthy and thus enlightened clime...gives little credibility to the idea that he actually "bought" what was told to him, as passed down through generations of slaves....
3. A supposedly all-wise, all-knowing, loving deity would NOT have authored even the first ten commandments attributed to it in the wholey scriptures....for most of them center on a deity's mega-maniacally egotistic demands to be worshipped exclusively, and inanely include commandments not to covet (AS IF! ), not to engrave images, which would INCLUDE EVEN the printed word (!!!!!) and yet another commandment frees everyone from labor in worship of this deity one day a week....everyone, that is, with the exception of the wife...the woman...she's not mentioned as being free from labor on that day....everyone ELSE is...ya think a deity wouldn't realize it'd step in some deep doo-doo on that one? HUH? ANNNND....there is no mention anywhere, even in the multitude of commandments added to the original ten, of ordinances against child neglect or abuse...or molestation....nor ordinances against illicit drug useage or terrorism, to name a few that would be pertinent in today's world....
4. The last book in the wholey scriptures are based entirely on a man's dream (nightmare)....and taken as gospel.....what was he "on"....payote? (sic)

the reason i ask this question is because today my 24 yr old son had a bench warrant issued against him.

one of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.
they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.
i was once counselled for joking around too much.
There's some really juicy counseling episodes mentioned above....LOL....the most ridiculous one was after I had a car accident out in California....I had a double concussion, two black eyes, swollen forehead, two badly sprained ankles, couldn't work and was being evicted from my apartment for non-payment of rent...so I got some financial aid from Human Resources to move into another apartment and time was drawing near for me to move....without transportation I needed help...NO ONE had even come by my apartment to check on me.....I called the bros from my congregation and asked for some bros to come help me move and told them when would be the last day I had to be moved and scheduling a few days early.....ON the day they were scheduled to come, I was still waiting for bros to show up.....they finally did....BUT...it was two bros in suits...the P.O. had sent them to "counsel" me that since I had gotten myself into this "mess", I could just get MYSELF out of it and that I should go to the State or Federal govt. for financial aid.....That chickensh*t batard...the P.O. didn't have the guts to come over and get the earful that I gave those poor bros....me lying on the couch all banged up and them telling me I could go "freak" myself in so many words....those poor bros were mortified, as well they should have been when I blasted 'em ....I'll bet that's the LAST time those poor bros were the P.O.'s "beck 'n call" guys...LOL

I like the way I did it. One day I was on the rise, a little rebellious, but considered very intelligent and not someone the elders wanted to argue with about any thing and the next day GONE. I loved it.

There is no easy way or right way to fade. I think, the way it happened, was thrust upon me, and a decision had to be made, regardless. So, no, I would not have changed my exit.
